Art takes many forms and constantly is renewing itself through new developments in technology and materials. One of the more recent additions involves photography as it has evolved from simple realistic reproduction through creative impulses that utilize digital manipulation or esoteric printing formats. Mary Lee Moore, CD '00, has devised an approach that uniquely creates ethereal images that emerge from printed silk or seemingly float on glass panels. She states that "the addition of gold leaf to this process...captures the shimmering light experienced in her Spiritual Journey," as shown in an actual viewing of this latest Cliff Dwellers exhibition. It is on display from October 8 through November 4.

Moore is a professional artist, teacher, and freelance photographer. She has undergraduate and advanced degrees in art from Illinois State University and also has studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work has been shown not only in Chicago but also in other cities throughout the U.S. and Europe. She currently teaches art and photography in the Chicago area at Maine South High School. Mary Lee Moore began her association with the Cliff Dwellers as a member of the Artists-in-Residence program
